2013 Macau/HK Day 3 & 4

It has been a stressful week lately and my dearest grandma is hospitalised! But I'm glad she is recovering and will be discharged soon once her blood test report is ok! :)

Continue from Day 2, we are going to Fei Ngo Shan which we always saw in HK drama therefore I brought along long sleeve top and pants just in case it is cold up on the mountain! I can't remember what time we woke up already, I think most probably around 8am.

OOTD: Top - Tokyo Fashion, Bottom - Betwo Taiwan, Shoes - Taiwan

We went to Yee Shun Milk Company (義順牛奶公司) which is located near our hotel for our breakfast. This is a well-known cafe in Hong Kong! I ordered their typical breakfast set but I only had few mouthfuls because my appetite is very small now.

After breakfast, we went to Sheng Wan where I wanted to get the Jenny's Bakery Cookies! Gab accompany me to get the cookies while YC & KX went to the ladder street to see see look look. I managed to find Jenny Bakery but it was closed on a Sunday! I saw that a cafe next door was selling the cookies too but at a higher cost. I was hesitating till Gab said if I pay a little more but save the queuing time, it will be worth it too. So I got the cookies from the cafe. We went to rest at a nearby Starbucks and I tried the cookies, it was awesome! It melts in the mouth and is the best cookies ever eaten! (add on a side note: my uncle & friends love the cookies too!)

We meet at Sheung Wan MTR station and took the train to Causeway Bay station where KX wanted to go Times Square and get the Agnes B Chocolate. The cakes there look so tempting, I wish to go Taipei to try the Agnes B cafe though.

We went to somewhere in Causeway Bay to have lunch but I'm the only one who skip lunch because I have no appetite. :( Weird right? Cos I'm in Hong Kong where all the yummy food are everywhere, but I'm not hungry and have no appetite. After lunch, we walked through the street market in Causeway Bay and I managed to get a pair of shoes at SGD $10 only! I bought a pair of flats for the sister too. Where can I find nice design at such cheap price in Singapore?! We make our way back to the hotel and Gab decided to stay in to rest while the rest of us make our way to Rainbow station where we can get a cab to go to Fei Ngo Shan.

When we boarded the cab and told the driver where we wanted to go, he was shocked because he said that Fei Ngo Shan is not very accessible by transport and not easy to get a cab to find us back and it may take hours for us to walk down the mountain. We were speechless when we hear that so the cab driver suggest to drive us to Lion Mountain instead. He drove us to this observation area which was nothing fantastic and we gotten so much mosquito bites there! :(

We wanted to go to the Fei Ngo Shan as shown in this pic

So we took a public bus to Wong Tai Sin Station and took a MTR back to hotel to meet up with Gab and took the MTR to mongkok for last minute shopping and dinner! It was the worst dinner eaten and I nearly puke. I ordered a suckling pig & roast goose rice and there were so much fats under the skin. I tried not to eat the fats but it was so oily till I'm going to vomit!

We continue our walk to Mongkok where KX wanted to get sport shoes and Gab wanna get computer accessories. I was feeling so unwell from the oily dinner. KX brought us to try the nice soya milk around that area and as usual I skipped that meal as I was still unwell from the oily dinner. KX went shopping for his shoes while the rest of us went to buy Hang Heung Wife biscuits (around 15 boxes) then we walked all the way back to our hotel.

We went to Temple street for last night shopping and headed back to the hotel to pack our luggage.

We woke up quite early on day 4 and YC went to the supermarket with KX to get their instant noodles and some snacks. I took time to prepare myself and do some last minute packing so that we can check out when they are back!

We checked out around 9.45am and took the MTR to take the airport express to airport, it was quite a fast and fuss-free journey! We checked in our luggages and I went to the Disney store in the airport to get a Minnie Mouse bag for my god-daughter. We had our lunch too and we rushed to the gate as it was nearly "gate-closing" time! Phew~~ we nearly missed our flight!

It was overall a nice trip with the colleagues as we could hardly match one another timing to go travelling together! Thanks for all your companion! :)

2013 Macau/HK Day 2

Am too busy to update the blog lately, yet at the same time I wish to update the travelogue in case I forgot the details. :( My memory is not as good as before now, not sure if it is related to my lack of food nowsaday. :p

Day 2 - we woke up around 8am and left the hotel for breakfast at 9.30am. Gab was not feeling that well so only Ching, me and KX went for breakfast. We decided to go to Senado Square which was always seen in HK movie. When we reached there, we realised that Senado Square is the place where we went on Day 1 but we missed it.

We had breakfast at the same place where we had the pork bun burger. My appetite is small now so I only had an egg & ham sandwich. I simply love the sandwich. After breakfast, we passed by the Ko Kei bakery and I decided to buy the portugese egg tart to try.

After breakfast we took a cab back to hotel and pack our stuffs before we checked out around 11am. We took the hotel shuttle and arrived the ferry terminal at 11.20am. We got our tickets to HK and immediately rushed to board the ferry leaving at 11.40am. We bought the wrong tickets though, we were supposed to go Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry terminal but we went to the one in Sheung Wan (Hong Kong Island) instead. The ferry ticket costs around HKD 150 per pax.

We reached Hong Kong around 12.45pm, the journey takes around 1 hour. We were late in meeting our HK Colleague, Karen so KX arranged to meet her at Tai Hing Restaurant instead. We took the MTR and rushed to the hotel for check-in. We booked Kings de Nathan Hotel which was located at Yau Ma Tei Exit C2, temple street is just behind the hotel. We were unable to check in yet so we left the luggage at the lobby then took a walk to Tai Hing Restaurant which was a distance away. I met Karen for the 1st time though we had numerous contact through emails previously.  Finally, I had my roast goose drumstick rice and HK double-boiled soup which was so delicious!

Sudden craving for this now

After lunch, Karen brought us to the famous Hang Heung Pastry shop where they sell the most famous wife biscuits which everyone find it nice. We decided to go back to the shop on our 2nd last day to buy back to SG. We proceed to Mongkok after that and Karen showed us around that area before going off after that. KX went to look for his camera lens, while the rest of us went shopping! I wanted to find New Town Mall as I always get my shoes there. I wanted to get a type of boots this time round and I managed to find one which I liked alot.

a favorite pair at SGD $32

After buying my shoes, YC & Gab wanted to look for computer accessories etc so we took the MTR to sham shui po where there is a computer centre there. We shop around for an hour plus and they finally get their items at cheaper rate than SG. We were to meet KX back at the hotel at 6.30pm so we took the MTR back to Yau Ma Tei. We reached exactly same time as KX at the hotel lobby. We collected our keys and we need to carry our luggage up the stairs to the 1st level!!! OMG~~~ we were like grumbling and I wanted took room 101 but KX put his luggage there so YC & me moved to room 104. When all see the room, they "say" me liao. Hahah... The room size was ok but maybe not that satisfactory. KX & Gab initially wanted to take the Cityview but I remembered having bad impression of the Cityview so I don't want it. YC and me unpacked before we went to the guys' room and their room is so much spacious than ours! Hmph.... KX snatched my room (I keep grumbling this to him throughout the whole trip!). LOL~~~

Room 104 is quite worse because the room is along the main road and we could hear vehicles on the road and people talking on the street. We stayed in the room till 8pm before taking MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui to my favorite Sweet Dynasty Restaurant! I miss the congee, desserts & bird nest egg tarts there! We each ordered a main course and KX order dishes such as sweet & sour pork, tofu etc. It was so delicious, but as usual i ate little! Boohoo ~~~ :( How I wish my tummy got more space! But I finished all 3 mini bird nest egg tarts! YUMMY!

After dinner, we walked to Harbour City because I wanted to use the washroom! Hee~~ After that, KX brought me to somewhere where I wanted to try Lan Fong Yuen Milktea, but the shop was closed already! Heard that Lan Fong Yuen Milktea is the best milktea in HK especially if you go to the branch located in Central.

After that, we walked around TST area and went into a shopping mall. We did not realise that this shopping mall has 21 Levels. :x We only walked up till 5th level and we could not continue any further as most shops were also closed by then. We took some pictures along the way in the mall.

Saw this makeup products vending machine

I look cute here too, isn't it? wahaha :p

We left the mall around 11pm and KX wanted to eat the famous Mak's Wanton noodles. I was so tired by then and also no space for any food. Haha but we still accompany him there. The noodles smell good but I was not hungry for any supper. :(

After supper, we walked back a short distance to our hotel. Finally, it was time to rest for the day but I had difficulties sleeping because it was very noisy along the main road! :(

Kind of busy lately, so may need to wait some time for Day 3. :)

2013 Macau/HK Day 1

Another travelogue post again... :) It was also a last minute impromptu trip with the usual clique of colleagues! But it was our first overseas trip together!

We were departing on a Friday at 6.10am to Macau so I had to wake up around 3am to prepare. It was tired as I did not sleep much during the night. I was all ready by 4am and waiting for Gab to go fetch KX then come fetch me around 4.20am. While I still have time, I did my usual OOTD selfie again! Yes, I know I did it everytime before travelling. :p

We reached Changi Airport around 4.45am and YC was already there. We did our check-in in a jiffy and off we went into the transit area to have our breakfast. We had the usuals of butter toast and egg before shopping a little while and off to board our plane. The flight was delayed taking off and the journey to Macau took around 3hours plus. We arrived Macau around 10.10am.

We alighted from the plane and walked to Macau airport customs.

As we had 4 luggages so 4 of us had to go to the hotel in 2 separate taxis. We took the taxi to Hotel Royal and it costs around 65 MOP (you can pay in HKD in Macau). The driver took 80 HKD instead and I think it is normal in Macau for the people to pay a little more in HKD (somewhat like tips).

We did the check-in at 11.30 am but time was still early so the receptionist ask us to come back at 3pm instead to collect the keys. Therefore, we immediately went to find food for our growling tummy! KX already had a place in mind. It was a dim sum restaurant near to the hotel.

These dim sums cost only SGD $12 per pax & the smoked duck in the middle is really delicious!

名門居海鮮食府澳門馬大臣街1, 1A, 1B號地下

After dim sum, we began to go walk around looking for KX's camera lens and the traditional ice cream.

New experience of mixed flavours ice-cream but the biscuit "lao-hong", not crunchy type.

After that, we began walking and asking around where is the temple where KX wanted to go. We finally found it after walking for around 15-20 minutes. Gab's feet was in a little pain so the 3 of us found a bench and rest and we camwhore under the tree! :)

While roaming on the streets of Macau

Guess whose legs? :p

After KX came to find us, we proceed our way to the ruins of St Pauls! It was so crowded as I believe it is a very good photography area.

Tada.. I finally came to Macau!

When in Macau, how can you miss out pork chop bun? We did not go to the famous one but went in search for one which KX personally find it not bad. It took few minutes to brave through the crowds alone a lane where there are many souvenirs shops especially the famous Ko Kei Bakery.

The cafe where serves the nice pork chop bun

Yummy Pork Chop Bun

After satisfying our growling tummy, we went to Ko Kei to get goodies such as Peanuts candy, walnut cookies, ginger candy etc. It was so crowded with tourists! After getting the goodies, we had to look for a cab but it was so crowded everywhere. We decided to walk to Grand Lisboa to take a shuttle bus to the Macau Ferry terminal and from there we took the Hotel Royal shuttle bus back to hotel. We got our keys and checked in to the room to rest for a while.

The room is quite big

After checking in and resting for a while, we took the hotel shuttle to the ferry terminal again and took the Hotel Galaxy shuttle. Hotel Galaxy is a very grand hotel and I think it is the grandest hotel in Macau. We spent quite some time at this hotel to take photos.

Isn't Hotel Galaxy grand?

Entrance of Hotel Galaxy

We spent some time there before proceeding to the food court there for our dinner. The food was not nice and it was kind of expensive!

Selfie in Hotel Galaxy's washroom

We took the bus over to Venetian Macau which I have always wanted to go after seeing this hotel in various HK dramas. Well, it was a little out of my expectation as it was not as grand as it seems to be.

Venetian Macau

No Gondola that day :( Wanna go Venice one day though

Venetian Macau
After Venetian Macau, we walked over to the City of Dreams wanted to see the laser shows but it was kind of late. Oh ya, it was also first time in my life going to casinos! Now I finally know how casinos are like. :p Yea, kind of mountain tortoise. We took a cab to Wynn hotel to see the laser light shows. It was good with music played in the background.

After seeing the laser light shows, it was back to hotel. We are dead beat! :)

I will update day 2 real soon...
