One colleague has resigned so as usual, we will hold a farewell treat. I was thinking of Kith cafe when R suddenly suggested Five & Dime Eatery where we only need to walk 5-10 minutes from the road at the back of our office building passing by where Mr LKY lives. Hmm, why not since it's not very far and the weather looks promising for a walk.
The cafe only open at 12noon so we left office ard 11.40am and reached the place at 11.55am, it was still not yet open. We waited outside for a while till 12 noon.
|There's parking available on the right of the cafe.|
The staff opened the door at 12 sharp. Since there were no crowds, so we chose our own seat area.
The beverage menu are written in small note book, that is cute.
We were racking our brains on the menu, as usual, I'm deciding between Egg Benny or the Katsu Curry Rice. I decided on Katsu Curry Rice ($18.00) and Cafe Latte ($6) in the end. Nelly tried the Mentaiko Pasta ($18.00) and Ice Mocha ($7), while Reeve ordered the Egg Benny ($18.00) and Root beer ($5) and Jackson ordered the Braised Pork Belly Sandwich ($18.00) and Chocolate Milkshake ($10.00).
The food did not take long to arrive! The interior of the cafe is pretty cozy and a little old school too.
I did not make the wrong choice by ordering the Katsu Curry Rice, Nelly and Reeve tried it too. The pork is really crispy and not oily, goes well with the curry. As for Nelly's pasta, I tried a mouthful and it was fantastic. Reeve's Egg Benny looked so healthy and pretty, I should try that next time! Jackson's braised belly sandwich with sweet potato fries looks awesome too, this cafe serve food with dedication and passion!
We had a very fulfilling lunch! Although the price is a little on the high side, but the food and service is good. I will be back again. :)
